The Management Education Committee plans and conducts management education and supervisory training programs to meet members’ needs outside of those offered by the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend.
The Membership Committee recruits new members, tracks their participation, and develops an annual retention plan to maximize and maintain a quality growth within the chapter.
The Political Action Committee analyzes the political environment in the Chapter’s area and recommends financial support for political candidates. The Committee obtains contributions from Chapter members, provides information to members on relevant political matters, and publishes voter guides during election cycles.
The Programs Committee develops, promotes, and coordinates quality membership programs and special events such as monthly general membership meetings, mixers, and other family fun events to provide optimum networking and educational opportunities to the chapter’s membership.
The By-Laws Ad-Hoc Committee reviews and updates the Chapter By-Laws to ensure that they are in compliance with State and Federal laws as well as the ABC national rules and regulations.
The Chapter Operating Policy and Procedures Ad-Hoc Committee reviews and updates the Chapter Operating Policy and Procedures to ensure they are in compliance with State and Federal laws as well as ABC national rules and regulations.
The Dues Review Committee reviews the Chapter Dues in comparison to other Chapters our size within our region and makes recommendations for Category changes, Chapter dues increases, and member classification changes.
The Community Involvement Ad-Hoc Committee was developed to coordinate community assistant projects to aid in the enhancement of our community.
The Legislative Committee plans and recommends proactive legislative policies and programs and actively participates in the legislative action process. Monitors state and local legislative activities and activates chapter response mechanisms.
The Legal Rights and Strategy portion of the committee monitors labor relations, cases and union activities, observing and reporting in trends and making recommendations to the Board. Plans and executes timely informational sessions for members.
The Political Affairs Committee analyzes political environment in the chapter area and recommends political candidates for endorsement and/or financial support; obtains contributions from chapter members for ABC PAC; provides information to members on relevant political matters and publishes voter guides during election years.
The Nominating Committee selects and presents a slate of Chapter officers and Board of Directors for elections for the upcoming year, selecting the strongest possible leaders with a demonstrated commitment to the Chapter.
The Past Presidents Council consists of past Chairpersons of the Board of Directors who are still Chapter members in good standing. The Council is used as a resource for the Chapter President.
The Plans Room Committee meets to evaluate and assess the services and usage of the physical plans room, virtual plans room, and its responsibilities, capabilities, and opportunities.
The Safety Committee develops and promotes quality safety programs. The Committee keeps member informed of the trends and changes in the administration of federal and state safety laws and regulations.
The Scholarship Committee discusses scholarship possibilities, reviews scholarship applications, and attempts to distribute scholarships to students with an emphasis in the construction industry and attend a school in the Coastal Bend.
Fundraising Event Committees: The chapter holds fundraising events each year: Golf Tournament, Fishing Tournament and the Skeet & Trap Shoot. Each committee is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the entire event.
